Blairquhan Castle

Set in 2000 acres of beautiful countryside, Blairquhan Castle offers accommodation for up to 25 people (5 double / 5 twin / 5 single rooms), on an exclusive fully staffed and catered basis, for leisure, company meetings, corporate events or luxury family holidays.
Perfect for house parties, golfing holidays and enjoying the history and scenery of Ayrshire and Dumfries-shire. The castle is surrounded by a country estate in the wooded valley of the Water of Girvan in south west Scotland, midway between Glasgow and Dumfries.

Accommodation & Catering
The castle has about 70 rooms including the Library, Saloon, Drawing Room, Billiards Room with full-sized table, a Table Tennis Room, a Family Museum and a Picture-Gallery with a good collection of modern paintings mainly by the Scottish Colourists.

The castle has a full time staff, and wherever possible, produce from the Estate is used, including game and salmon, and fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden.

Also equipped with: Overhead Projector, Flip Chart, Video Facilities, Fax and Photocopying.

The Castle
Blairquhan Castle was built in 1821 - 1824 by William Burn for Sir David Hunter Blair, the 3rd Baronet. It is now the home of Jamie Hunter Blair, the great great grandson of Sir David.

Golf
The British Open Golf Championship courses of Turnberry and Troon are 14 and 20 miles away respectively, Prestwick, 16 miles, was the home of the first ever Open in the World, which was held in 1860, and the 15 subsequent Opens.

Fishing & Shooting
There is a high class pheasant and partridge shoot, salmon fishing over 5 miles of the River Girvan and trout fishing on 3 Estate lochs.
Other Activities
Clay pigeon shooting and horse riding can be arranged nearby.
