Duirinish Lodge

Duirinish Lodge stands in a spectacular position with breathtaking panoramic views across the sea to the Isle of Skye, including the whole of the Cuillin mountain range, Isle of Raasay, Applecross and Torridon.

It offers very comfortable accommodation for 12 on a self-catering basis for one-week stays. The Lodge is the perfect setting for holidays exploring Wester Ross, Skye & Lochalsh whether you wish to climb mountains, tour castles or just get away from it all in a secluded and tranquil location.

The Lodge
The Lodge was built in 1936. All the main reception rooms have the benefit of wonderful views to the west including the recently extended drawing room which opens directly onto a courtyard.

The private woodland and gardens extend to 18 acres. The summerhouse, built at the highest point of the property, gives panoramic views all round.

Accommodation

The Lodge has full central heating throughout. The main lodge sleeps up to 8. This comprises:

There is a separate Games Room with pool table, darts and a hi-fi system.

The Guest Wing sleeps up to 4.
It can be either fully integrated with the main house, or alternatively used by a couple, small group, or live-in cook. It is fully equipped to the same high standard as the rest of the Lodge, and can be completely self-contained. It comprises a kitchen/dining room, sitting room, 3 bedrooms and shower room.

The Area
Plockton (2 miles from the Lodge) is an exceptionally picturesque fishing village, and has a pub, a general store and other facilities. It will be familiar to anyone who has seen the 'Hamish Macbeth' TV series.

Kyle of Lochalsh (4 miles from Duirinish) has further shops and facilities. It is also the start of the Skye Bridge which enables easy day trips to the island.

Eilean Donan Castle

Eilean Donan Castle (9 miles from Duirinish) is one of the most recognised images of Scotland. Atmospheric in any weather and well worth a visit. Continue around Loch Duich and take the road to Glenelg to see the ancient Pictish brochs and the little ferry to Skye.

Wester Ross

Another day's excursion can be made to explore the splendid scenery of Wester Ross with its mountains and unspoilt sandy beaches. Inverewe Garden is a unique sub-tropical delight just north of Gairloch. Alternatively, take the famous high road to Applecross.
